Yesterday we had the briefing for my next 2 week tour, this time of Northern Slovenia and Croatia and the Italian Alps. My bike is a Suzuki DL 1000 which is the big brother of the 650 I was on for the previous tour. It has more power, more comfort, plus traction control and a slipper clutch. Wow, what an awesome waterpark here in Slovenia... just the perfect combination of slides, play areas for the kids, giant wave pool and general swimming areas... plus of course the dreaded COBRA ride..... and all for 32E for the family for the day... not bad value.

We are staying in a nice, allbeit, Austrian styled as this part of Slovenia has a heavy Austrian influence, right across ...

On Saturday we went for another beautiful morning walk in the country before being picked up by my brother-in-law to go to Maribor. It was a very pretty and slightly sketchy drive on fairly narrow Slovenian roads but we got there in one piece. We walked to the town square and checked out a really neat market with local vendors selling their art, food and clothing etc. Maribor is filled with old buildings that have many stories to tell, and I had great fun exploring ...
