Day 115 We were now heading to Onomichi, the starting point for a cycle ride across six islands that we had decided to do. Along the way on the train it passed through Saijo, a famous sake brewing area so we had to stop. Unluckily for us, several were closed due to Golden Week (getting to hate those words!) but four were still open, so we set off walking with a map. The first brewery, Kamotsuru, had a video about the sake making process. It was in Japanese ...

... I did see some really good discounts! After that we went to another part of the town that was very beautiful! It looked very old Japanese styled. It reminded me of an old martial arts movie. ... we should get going." Doh! I hadn't realized that either. With that, Erika starts packing up and within a few minutes we are loaded up and ready to leave. We of course stop by the concierge in the lobby to get some details as to how to get to our next destination - Onomichi. Despite our late exit they were very nice and they provided all the info we needed to get to our next destination.

... toilets with no doors. After drinking copious amounts of ginger tea James almost used one when no one was around - but luckily realised at the last minute that they were some sort of beauty treatment, filled with tea that could be lit from below. We're still not 100% sure what that was about! After the 8 steps (3 ovens/steam rooms, 2 outdoor baths, the sea, the sandy beach and can't remember what the other step was!), it was time to pad back inside, ...
