Rest Day

A travel blog entry by burke.hamish

... a hotel and so decided to stay TWO nights. Luxury! 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Waking up of my own accord in comfort and silent surrounds. Bliss, absolute, bliss. Thank our good Lord for rest. We are not created to exist without it. It's amazing that even out here on the Camino the call of dead lines can still creep in. This was our Camino and we are blessed for this challenging, exquisitely beautiful, rewarding experience! Thank you all for your ...

A walk onto the Mesata

... afternoon and virtually everyone is on siesta, shops are shuttered closed and everything is quiet and still, even the dogs do not look up as you approach.

The only shop open at this time was a small shop that sold everything from croissants, ice cream and wine. The door to the Casa was locked and when I asked the store owner how to contact the Casa host/owner, he simply tossed me the key to the Casa, said something in Spanish to ...
