... dogs on trains in Spain. He had walked from Pamplona and was only a few days away from home. I don't know how long he had been on the trail but is was a 1400km round trip. Friendly guy who offered to bandage Warren's feet as Warren was having a rest on a stone wall waiting for Richard and me.

Spent the day wandering around Burgos, a town of 170,000 which was Franco' s capital while he was in power. A very pretty city that empties out ...

... stairway. The church was one of the first in Spain in the French gothic tradition, but has a rather Spanish signature, mixing it with plateresque and flamboyant elements. The chapels are richly decorated in different styles and the light from the windows is superb. If you've seen the cathedral, the rest of Burgos pales away, so start with a tour of the city first.

... Camino. So for the first time in days I've been on the full 11kg pack. Really wasn't a problem, the strength and fitness I have gained over the last 360km of non stop walking (- 1 day) I didn't really notice it. Means I'm likely to continue carrying it. John has an intermittent tooth ache so didn't want to mix his high dose brufen with alcohol. We had called into a pharmacy earlier to stock up on drugs and she sold us Ibuprofen 600mg tablets.
