... I could have happily spent a few days here exploring. I was sorry not to have time to sit on the grassy bank of the clear, shallow river lazily meandering under the city's pretty bridges or go to the modern museum of human evolution which looked quite interesting. But walking is my purpose and walk I shall. Catching the train to Astorga to commence the next leg of my walk, I wonder what adventures await ...

... Camino de Santiago out of Castrojeriz to the Santa Clara church where the Corpus Christi mass and procession took place this morning. We then rode along the way to a ruined monastery part of which has been turned into a refuge for Pilgrims.

Another wonderful walk today of 26 kms along country roads and pathways into Burgos and a rest day awaiting us :)

... Honestly you'd swear you were in a clock shop some days! Twas 9km to the first coffee stop and we made it in just over an hour and wandered through the streets of the beautiful town of Castrojeriz which they seem to be spending a great deal of money on making it inviting. ... we wandered a bit along the river and along the streets - a beautiful town. I have forgiven it for the boring part we had to walk through yesterday! Burgos does seem a bit more big and bustling than Pamplona and Logroño which are fairly similar in population.
