... it as Jago would never have forgiven me. So settled for lunch and a swim in the sea instead. For dinner we struck gold. We were lucky to get a table at Tipico. The staff were great, everyone in the kitchen even the washing up lady seemed to be enjoying themselves. The guy at the bar usually ate there but was today filling in as his friend was sick and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. We all agreed it was our best meal so ...

... point from Italy. So we bid farewell to ham products three times a day as our slow ferry lived up to its billing with a chug out into the Adriatic Sea. The town of Rovinj was alive and buzzing when we arrived at 9.30pm. A local group was singing very loudly on a stage by the water. People were drinking, dinning and wandering the streets. We were thinking of renting a beach chair and umbrella, ordering a drink and relaxing and ...

... when we get to Rijeka to visit with Monika - a friend from my Etsy Mud Team. Why didn't I think to snap a photo? Finding Monika's apartment should be easy, but instead we are listening to Siri trying to renounce (sic) the street names and travel in circles before we find it.

After enjoying a cordial of stinging nettle (really) and a nice visit (thank you Monika) we are on our way to our night's lodging in Medulin, then into Pula to check out the ...

Pula through Rijeka and headed down the mainland

... for some sort of orchestra concert while we were there. We hopped on a tour bus that drove us around the city for about 90 minutes but it wasn't the best tour as it blew past everything that looked interesting . After the tour we ended up walking to the stuff we drove by. Many roman walls, arches and gates still stand today with throngs of people walking past through and under them just as the Romans a couple thousand years ago... Can't imagine the liability insurance ...
