    After saying goodbye to my parents, we drove over to the coast via HWY 199 then to 101 to Arcada. We stopped along the way, enjoying the rain, and fog in the trees.     ... so we couldn't explore some of the more backcountry areas of this park. But there was enough along the road. The next stop was at the Big Tree Wayside. The trail led us to several large trees and tree groups, the largest being the "Big Tree". And it was- big. Superlatives start sounding all the same, but the amazement at these trees never seemed to wane.

    What an amazing day! But I'll get to that.

    So my last night in LA we went to an outdoor showing of A Clockwork Orange at the Hollywood cemetery. It was very enjoyable, a really nice chilled evening. We had a picnic before the film and it was lovely and warm even when the sun went down.

    ... back to Bjorn’s to finish loading the bikes and whatever was left. We made a quick stop in Arcata at the bike shop to get Kaitlyn’s front wheel fixed, which they kindly did free of charge, and grabbed a coffee before hitting the road.
