This morning we stopped in Fort Bragg at a coffee house and had some time to do research online and sip cappucinos. Fort Bragg was a cute town on the water, but there was not much there so we decided to keep driving on Route 1 until we hit the Pacific Star …
... we were in. We were at a ramp that had no spit for a car to pull over, as well as no gas station right by it. All the cars that drove passed were locals, or people from the casino in the area. It was not an exit that travelers would pull off at and thus we were there for a good few hours with no luck. The sun was starting to set and willygoat decided to give up for the day. He was hungry, and needed a bit of time to "spange" for food. 10 ...
... the ocean making the air cool ..... Such a rugged coastline, a few houses scattered here and there. Looking out over the sea we could see large floating beds of seaweed ... so we stopped to see if we could spot any sea otters .... but not this time. Arrived at Fort Bragg .... settled in to our room .... now off for Mexican ... Haven't really got use to these California wines .... didn't stop me from having a couple ...
Caitlin's mom, Bridgit, joined us for dinner & the conversations of family & just generally getting to know one another (all of us) was soul-filling. Afterwards, Winslow & I headed into town for me to buy some coffee (a specialty kind that's not available in many places.) Here Winslow was able to show me quaint Arcata, complete with old-timey movie theaters, bakeries, & victorian style structures.
