... inside wasn't too special and there was no place to look out over the city. If you ever go, I recommend skipping the basilica, and the hike up there!
Definitely a beautiful day trip but there isn't a whole lot to do when the carnival isn't in full swing. I would love to go back in the warmer months to see the caves around the back of the mountains, they sound absolutely wonderful!

In five days, I'll be leaving Geneva for an amazing adventure. This week is going to be busy, because I still have to do a lot before the departure.
I did already all my paperwork for the travelling, my vaccines are all done and my luggages are almost ready too.
Now, I have to read a lot about South Africa and the history about Cap Town, to be able to write good articles when I'll be there.
... lot to see in Annecy! At least not this time of year. It has a spectacular lakefront - during mid summer, or mid winter, it would be an amazing town for a holiday. A great spot to be based for skiing locally... We took the high road back around the lake, climbing 600m into some absolutely classic Rhone Alpes landscape, dotted with very Swiss style mountain villages and massive limestone peaks all around ...
... at the end of Lake Annecy. There is a very similar feel to Queenstown with the long lake and mountains all around. Our accommodation is above a pharmacy, across the road from a Shopi (small supermarket) and across the road the other way from a small restaurant.
