... in the afternoon we took a one hour cruise up and down the Mondego River. We got great views of the city.

The river was quite crowded with young people, possibly teenagers, in P class yachts and others in canoes. There seemed to be a minimum of supervision but when a few capsized and they stood up in chest high water we understood why. The river is very shallow.
