It consists of a singer, or singers, and an ensemble of guitarists which includes a mandolin type instrument which is unique to Portugal, the Portugese guitar. So we are sitting in a seedy Porto cafe eating de nata custard tarts waiting for a train to Coimbra. Porto has been a delectable place to stop and relax post Camino, we toured multiple port caves and more importantly sampled the wares. After breakfast I take a walk down to see the archway we had had to negotiate yesterday in the car. I also climb up on to the city wall. No handrails or safety barriers. Its great. We check out. The road out of the walled village isn't as bad as the way in. The main difficulty is getting the throngs of tourists to get out of the way so we can get past. The town has lovely narrow streets flanking the canals and plenty buildings to admire.
All this area of portugal use light blue ceramic tiled murals to decorate churches and ordinary houses too. I can only imagine the work involved in painting enough tiles for a church 30 metres high.

... We had a bit of 'fun' on the way to the site, thinking we were close to the area we grabbed a parking spot near a few cafes with the intention of having a bite and walking up from there.
