    ... however they really don't do Bern any justice. We were wishing we had of stayed here overnight rather than Zurich... Lunch time stop is at the picturesque town of Montreux. Yes another 'jaw droppingly' stunning place. I think I will be using that description quite a bit during this tour! Montreux is situated on the shores of Lake Genève and wow!     ... ready for harvest, pine forest groves and grape growing areas. We crossed the Swiss border just after Lucanne which we bypassed for traffic ease. Our track followed Lake Geneve for about 2 hours. This beautiful waterway was flanked on one side by terraced grape vines and on the other by Swiss Alps.     ... the windshield. Some other renter had paid for it. And I found rather than French plates, this car has Spanish license plates. This little VW had already come a long way, and I would be taking it back toward its home country, though not all the way. I also noticed Avis had kindly personalized the license plates with my initials, so I would not get it confused with any other black Golfs.

    ... around three to pick up Phil. We headed back to the mall to pick up a couple groceries. The one thing that is a bit of an adjustment are the hours which groceries stores are open. They are not open on Sundays although apparently there are a few and other days generally grocery stores close early. As early as 6pm therefore you have to be organized.
