100km on fairly mixed roads took us to
the little town of Oriahovo where we were to get a ferry across the
Danube to Romania. Arriving at 10-30am meant that we had some time
to kill until the ferry was due to depart at noon. Apart from a
rather flagrant toilet block there were no facilities al all to speak

Surprisingly we were up and out sharp this morning even though Logan hadn't had his morning coffee! We were about 1km away from Poenari Fort so were there at 9:30 ready to climb up to the fort on the hill. At 5 o'clock, it was time for us to take a bus back to Nagyenyed (Aiud). Unfortunately, that bus was the only one leaving for Nagyenyed as it was Sunday. This was a problem because our train to Bucharest wasn’t leaving until 11:30 PM. We would have tons of time to kill in rainy, miserable weather.

In Enyed, a Roma boy tried to steal from me as David went to get money from an ATM. He was staring at me for a good 20 minutes. ...
