... Lacking the frustrating ball of beans, it was actually somewhat pleasant to simply lie around on it and enjoy the warmth. No sunshine today, but it is still warm. I read 2 newspapers - one tabloid and one broadsheet and amused myself by comparing the two for evidence of bias in reporting. Yes, I know, arenīt I a barrel of fun! I think I have reached the pinnacle of intellectual boredom after so long on the road having had nothing more challenging ...

... an area that seemed kind of sketchy, was perfectly safe and well lit. Michael and I hung there for a while as I sipped on a Coca-Cola LIGHT (diet coke) that I had purchased from a hole in the wall convenience store on some random side street. Then we walked back to the hostel, where I currently am. I am sitting next to a German guy who just kind of came to Barcelona. He doesn't really have any money, but he has a friend who lives in the ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain richfrohl... absolutely phenomenal! I was blown away by the creativity and ingenuity of Gaudi's cathedral. I decided to go with the audio tour as I don't think I've ever been disappointed by one. Construction of the building began in 1882 and it is still being worked on. The exterior is incredible. Inside, there was a lot of scaffolding and firing and workers were hustling about everywhere so you couldn't see as much of the nave as I would have liked. I could see ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands travelingdiva... It is a big hill/mountain overlooking the city and the ports. You can take the funicular tram or cable cars (teleferic) or just walk up. We took the funicular as it was included in our metro pass. The cable cars cost a bit more but look really fun. We will have to go when we have guests to show around. So as we explored the park we stopped in the botanical gardens, Andy made music on ...

Barcelona, Spain pdioquino... gear here than not only the US but many other places in Europe. People are just not in much of a hurry to get things done. Not that they donīt get things done, they just arenīt in a frenzied rush to do it. Along with that, most everyone takes an afternoon break called a siesta. In the middle of the afternoon most shops close down for a couple of hours only to reopen and continue their day. If I had a dollar for every time someone used the ...
Barcelona, Spain jtpharr... when I was standing in front of them! I spent the afternoon wandering around the area and amazingly didnīt get lost. Actually, I dont think it was my own directional skills that saved me, but that Paris has so many damn metro stations that your bound to run into one of them at some point. So I reluctantly headed back to my lonely little room again and actually had the chance to meet the girls in my room. One was from Japan and one was from Brazil which was quite funny and they were both ...
Barcelona, Spain tennille... the street there are tonnes of people pretending to be statues as well as many performers. We only went to one beach but it wasnt really nice. I guess we have just been spoiled hahah. There seems to be alot of crime in Barcelona. Pick pocketing is very common so we held tight to our bags. Dali, Picasso, and Gaudi (all painters) are all from Barcelona. We went to the ...
