    ... deep gorges, by the middle of the afternoon we turned off the main road and dropped down the side if a gorge, at one point it was so tight you could have touched both sides, however you would have got wet feet in the river. It's amazing how the roads are cut into the hillsides. Passing through a very narrow road in a village the overhanging balconies had their height painted on them, luckily the lowest was 3.5 metres.

Zakros gorge is slap known as gorge if the dead, as there are a lot if caves that have in historic times used as burial tombs. The valley bottom was full of shrubs and boulders with a path snaking through them, if course it stopped at the river, which again we couldn't cross.     ... if the cove there us a house tucked back from the sea. We parked in front of the small lake where we could hear a loud animal sound, it sounded like a very loud cricket, after some research we decided that it was a Cretan marsh toad. We walked went for a walk through the olive groves, for an hour or so.     ... a few smaller speed boats and yachts and some children just back from sailing were washing off a their of toppers, We walk back around to the harbour and decided it would be a nice place to stay for the night.
