... occasional English words. Sitting next to him was a lovely French lady who spoke wonderful English. She was there with three of her grandchildren (she is the mother of seven children). She asked us where we had travelled in France and then she suggested that we should see the North-East as well as the area near the Spanish border, Basque country. (This is where she lives and she believes it to be the best part of France.)

... difficult to get out of the park with so many people watching the final show but we did so easily and returned to our accommodation for the night.

As this has been written the morning after, we are soon to return for another day - you need at least two. Many people were wearing special lanyards which Brad presumes is an annual pass which costs only €76 per adult - good value if you lived in France.

... trucks were having a break. Only one toll ticket for 3.5 hours and as we got near Nantes we came off to go to the lovely town of Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu we had to pay €51.50 for our days work.
The drive North was ever changing because very soon we had left the vineyards behind and soon encountered huge fields of barley many already cut and straw baled and removed more with combine harvester parked up ready to roll.
