... amp; families appeared to be catching up with each other - a weekly ritual perhaps. We had a wine with the locals & when the tapirs bars opened at 8pm we had a Perigrino meal. We are amazed at how cheap both Portugal & Spain are. A large glass of wine is €2, approx $3. Coffee with cake is €1 ($1.50). 4 small tubs of yogurt were €.57 or just over ...

... dinner. The closest place was pizza, and we were all too tired to go any further. Pizza it is! A few of the group ordered tuna pizza - tuna pizza?? Come on, I consider myself well versed in the area of pizza, and I've never heard of a tuna pizza. I tried a piece. It was awesome. Kinda like a tuna melt or tuna casserole. Must try to make one when I get home.

The place we ate was packed for the big futball (soccer) match - there are apparently 2 ...

... up the pace, and finally saw some buildings below me on the horizon - I had made it to the bottom!! Better yet, the group was waiting at the base of the hill in a bar, and when they saw me coming in my rain gear (did I mention it started pouring, too?) they ordered cold beers and brought one to me. Angels, indeed ;)

The albergue was a small schoolhouse, and held the 6 of us and one of Rolf's friends who drove to meet us. We had a great dinner and drank wine out of soup ...
