... a quiet corner to spend an hour or two of relaxation, snoozing and rest (and a bit of reading). Actually got sidetracked on the way and went to a destination lecture in the main theatre. The presenter was talking about Lisbon, Almeria and Malta so that gave us some ideas for the following days.

Meanwhile, Pete and Roselyn took a galley tour to see how all the food was stored, prepared and cooked. We have seen a couple of these ...

... tops of a stone wall. They spent some time there, enjoying the beauty.

When they got home, they were looking at their photos, and noticed a For Sale sign in one of them (that they never noticed when they took the photo before). It was the ruins. Now She had a dream/plan - they talked about opening an albuerge together. Within 1 year, they left it all behind and started the project of building a B&B for pilgrims. While still in progress, it was stunning.

Great nights sleep, even though in a room with 20 people ;). And I felt better than ever this morning even after such a long and difficult day. No soreness, and NO blisters!!!! What a great decision to stay in this town for the day. Ponte de Lima is beautiful. Rainy/overcast this morning, but it cleared up this afternoon - perfect. This morning the town was busy setting up for Feires Novas (starts Thursday) - an annual party that goes on for 24 hours 3 days straight!? They say ...

The sun finally came out today - with a vengeance, and very little shade on Camino in this stretch. But was bound and determined to make it all the way to Ponte de Lima. Left Tamal at 8am and arrived in Ponte de Lima at 6pm. The rough terrain and need for breaks in the shade sure slowed me down. Fitbit shows over 20 miles traveled today. But I made it!!
