Oviedo was another town we hadn't actually heard of before we started researching for this trip but everything we read pointed towards it being a good place to spend a night or two since it’s renown in Spain for its sidre (cider), which is a bit different in a place that is dominated by its wine.

We had a little trouble at the station buying tickets because it's pronounced Ovi-ay-do instead of the way we were trying to say it O-vido. It was only an hour and ...

The drive out of Zarautz was really something. It took us along the coast and through lots of coastal towns and ports. The coastline is so beautiful and the drive reminded us of The Great Ocean Road. Unfortunately we hit a road block with our car and needed to stop soon to either give it a rest or have someone look it at. We found a camping near the coast and arrived there around 4 ...

... I'll admit it, the main reason for coming to Oviedo is Vicky Christina Barcelona (highly recommended if you wanna see Javier Bardem in suave mode). But the city did not disappoint. The casco antiguo (old preserved city center) is a delight! Very much Spanish style, but with added colors and flowers. We spent only 2 hours there but could snap a few shots and bring back some local cider. We'll definitely be ...

I had a good night’s sleep at Laura’s place, got my stuff together this morning, and left before I ever saw anyone in the house. I left my keys behind and grabbed a bus to the city center and got my Alsa bus to Oviedo. It was just a couple of hours to get here and my hotel is only a five minute walk from the bus station, so that made it easy. I’m staying in a place called Hotel ...
