... at lunchtime today - when I tried to upload the route for the next section of the journey I got a 'route calculation error' from my GPS. There has been a sort of friendly rivalry between Ian and myself throughout the trip - Ian prefers his paper maps and I put all my faith in the GPS. ... we arrived at a place called Bar le Duc, and after a quick drive through the town centre I asked George to take us to a shopping centre, since we needed to restock the fridge.

... go with a 17.5 meter barge? The VNF people know what boats are on their waterway and in general, know who is driving them as well.


We had a couple of missions in mind for our trip: 1) find a winter mooring 2) visit smaller champagne producers 3) drink champagne 4) buy champagne 5) take lots of baths 6) eat meals I didn’t have to cook. I can report that all were accomplished!
