At 3883 metres above sea level a 360degree panorama opens up taking in 38 peaks towering over 4000 metres and 14 glaciers in the French, Italian and Swiss Alps. As it was such a clear day we're sure we also saw Mont Blanc in the distance as well as the Jungfrau in all her radiant beauty. A lift took us 15 metres below ...

... 178. The town seems to be made up of tourist shops, outdoor gear shops, restaurants, hotels and my favorite, bakeries. Our elevation is now up to 5,276, so we have really moved our way up in Switzerland.

The town is a car free zone, ...
