Today we decided to take a day trip over the Switzerland. The mountains were calling me shall we say. It ended up being a 350km round trip with our little side steps along the way. We thought that it would be an open boarder into Switzerland like the one near Tirano, boy were we wrong! We were grilled by the Swiss Guard on the way in "what is the purpose of your travel into Switzerland " "where are you going" "how long are you staying" Then on the ...

The next surprise was the apéro with Champagne, cheese, meet and bread. The cheese fondue was served as dinner at ...

Zermatt itself is a resort town I would want a ski vacation at and the town doesn't allow cars just golf carts opertated by the town acting as taxis. We got our dose of Swiss tourist shops full of Swiss Army Knives in ...

We woke up to our magnificent view (photo) followed by a nice breakfast again and left to catch the train in -7 degrees!! Beautiful and refreshing if you are dressed for it. Appears Zermatt will be about the same temps which is better than when we had first looked a few days ago with -18 degrees on the day we were leaving, so we are quite lucky it has warmed up really! Once again we saw some magnificent ...

    • It was a productive day. I didn't really do anything. That night I went downstairs again hoping someone would want to be social. It was full of just the usual people with their faces buried in their electronic devices. So I joined them.
    • The Korean guys that were in my dorm had left in the morning so I had the whole dorm to myself which was ...
