... second one held heaps of people. You will see by the photos how many were in there lol. When we reached the summit... Oh My Lord we cannot explain how beautiful if was. It was so peaceful and the day was so clear, clean and bright. It was like the sun rained down on us. Our Tour Director, Ananda, said that she had not seen such a beautiful day up at the Matterhorn before, that was expressed by the locals also. We maintain that it was us that helped to make it that way lol. ...

This morning we visit the picturesque Chillon Castle immortalised by Lord Byron's 'Prisoner Of Chillon'. We continue our journey to Zermatt, which is inaccessible by coach, ascend to our hotel by electric mini-buses and taxis. Late sleep in, thank heavens, beautiful breakfast then off to Chillon Castle. Wow what a sight it was lovely. The things that we really liked about this castle was that you were and could explore nearly ...

Lightening and thunder also provided interesting diversity in an ...

... see the top of the rise and assumed that the trail would start reflecting what we were seeing on our map when we reached the top and around a slight right bend. Funny thing about mountains - you can't see the top until you're at the top. So we climbed and each time we thought we were close to the top, the alps just kept reaching skyward ahead of us. Now, at near 3000m the air is thinner than we're used to. Not to overstate the situation, but there was puffing ...

... It really looked like she was just going to give it to me anyway but eventually she took it away and came back with the barley soup I'd ordered. I really hope it was sans sputum!

On the way back to our chalet we walked past the cemetery and noticed that lots of the graves had candles in red votive holders flickering on them. Very beautiful and all the graves are well tended with fresh flowers as well, with no weeds anywhere to be seen.

A really nice day in a lovely ...
