... was outrageous, sooooo many trucks and of course everything travelling very quickly. It was most tiring for John as the driver. The closer we got to Milan the worse it got, anyway, we survived. Luckily the road basically bypasses Milan and we were soon in Como.
Well a shock we got! The lake is pretty but Como is a huge suburb of Milan really. In fact most of the lake has housing surrounding it, albeit rather flash housing :-). Arrived at ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

Despite the guys trying to sell you stuff it was great strolling around the piazza once again and we pretty much spent the whole day around. We also went to the Castello Sforzesco wich reminded me a lot of Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome. The guy in the entrance of the park playing Pink Floyd was the finishing touch.   We continued our day ...

... high prices Dinner at Cuccini Picolo, about 10 min walk from hotel recommended by Trip Adviser. Very small - about 20 pax and only husband and wife running. They had new menu this month, and sat with us to explain. Shared antipasto of goose liver pate with sweet pickles, which was really tasty. I had chocolate ravioli served in a plate of olive oil, which was neither too sweet or too bitter. Interesting but mainly remarkable because someone thought of making it. My main ...

Learning to ride a bike in Robecco

... inadequacies.Without hesitation, I picked up the bike. This time I walked the bike through the gate and over its threshold. I mounted the bike again, pushed off, and down the dirt driveway, I rode. The path was littered with holes, rocks, and divots of grass that divided the path most travelled by the vehicles that frequented it. No less relaxed than when I started, I try not to gaze upon my feet but instead looked up to concentrate on what was ahead. Vale with EJ on her back is ...
