Seeing the Greek temples

... a few children dress in costumes, it is not a prevalent custom. But all children enjoy the fun of dressing up, so Halloween has begun to take on the flavor of the more secular and fun-filled trick and treat night of the USA. However, the non-religious aspect of the date is frowned upon here...Tradition is important in Italy.

Beach focus vacation

... E$150. Shared it with 4 other nice people. This train is not air conditioned well, does not provide food opportunity and is not in nice shape. However, it was cool b/c it needed to be loaded onto a ferry for part of the trip and we got to see scenery.

Once in Naples, need to transfer to local train for a 1 hour trip to Sorrento.

Stayed at Garden Villa. 20 rooms. E$300/nt. This hotel was elegantly furnished and had a ...

DAY 12 & 13 WHERE ARE WE - CLUE PLEASE?

... blubber to keep you warm!

Special mention from the cruise must go to the most talkative passenger of all - Mr Woo. He must have talked to the majority of passengers on the ship and covered a wide range of your typical holiday chat. This included the economic expansion of China and the fear that America and Russia have of Chinese military expansion and the subsequent threat to the West.

... of Piazza Armerina after visiting the castle, ate wonderful granitas, then made our way back to our hotel, which had a chlorine-free, minimal wave-action, 80 foot long swimming pool (so booth was delerious!). The restaurant did a tasting menu -- so you got a little of each of their appetizers of the day, a little of two different types of pasta, then a mixed grill, salad, and seasonal fruit. Two bites into the appetizers, Booth looked up, sighed, and said "I love Italy."

Arrived in Agrigento

Dear Lord........... In Cammarata today I got a ride on the back of a kid's sports bike with my backpack on. You'd have to see my backpack to understand... It is packed to the brim, but not only that, it has another backpack strapped to the back of it full of food and water ( at least 6 liters of water...). I'm thinking around 80lbs.. and it has ...

We spent about 10 days in Floridia and while it was wonderful meeting everyone I was exhausted by the end of it, so many new faces of relatives that I knew I had but had never met before. Of course we spent most of the time getting to know each other and I learnt alot about my family and got to see many photos that I'd never seen ...

Ragusa, Sicily

... fallen in the Great Wars. The view of the valley was beautiful too. By the time we'd made our way back to the bus and took pictures of the town built into the hills, we remembered we were supposed to regroup at St Georges! Tom and I basically ran back up the stairs and the steep streets just in time to meet the group to start back down to the bus.....we got our exercise in that afternoon! It was a bit of a drive to Piazza Armenia. We didn't stay in the town ...
