... what Google gets paid for. Just know that the natural beauty of the coastline and turquoise blue water were absolutely stunning. As we hiked down to the water we could not help but stop and admire the scene in front of us. A popular activity among the youngsters is to jump off the surrounding cliffs. Apparently I thought I was one of these young whippersnappers! It took some serious convincing and motivation, but I jumped off the cliffs a few times. Almost 29 years ...

    Day 13: Assisi

Resting place for St Francis it was sombre to visit his tomb under the church there, however the rest of the town has been transformed into a religious tourist destination. What said it all was the carousel outside one of the churches that was adorned with religious motifs...note the Francescan monks in the background. ...

It wasn't by design or forward planning that our day trip to Trevi coincided with a "fresh food market" however it made for a great outing.

Trevi is 90kms, about an hour and half from Panicale and about 15kms further on than Assisi so for much of the trip we were on familiar roads and scenery.

Like Assisi, it's high up on top of hill, also walled, like many of the villages in this region of ...
