... it during high season and I am glad that we missed that. They have said that this is the first nice weekend of the summer - and the weather has been good, about 20 degrees, but the breeze off the ocean is cool and when the sun goes behind a cloud you can tell. After the beach we headed to a restaurant that Martin had tried on another trip, with a nice view of the ocean and a little bit of everything on the menu. There was a cocktail party before dinner then after dinner a slide presentation of the photographs people had put on the Quark computer. It gave a lovely recap to a great ...

Heading south we spent a night in Mar del Plata, another large city on the coast. Nothing special about the town except it is the second largest beach town in the country and does indeed have a very wide beach that was crowded even as the sun was setting. It's surrounded by very flat, very fertile farmland. What strikes me most is how little we know about this country. Seems like people either live in huge cities or in very isolated, tiny villages.
