    ... all turned ok. We toured the Musee Corree, the archeological museum and the Doges Palace. St Mark's quad. was busy but not as bad as we expected. Perhaps the rain discouraged people.     ... across a busy concourse. Canary Wharf Jubilee Line has an elevator. We then travelled to London Bridge where the only elevator was to the exit (street level). The transfer to the Northern Branch Line we found there were never ending flights of steps that had to be negotiated. Our final destination took us to Euston where at least we only had 3 escalators to negotiate to the mainline concourse and then the safety of the Virgin 1st class lounge.

    ... to play was "Time to Say Goodbye" What a perfect way to say Arrivedercie to Italy. It gave me goose bumps.     ... masks because it was Carnevale of course! You can't go to Venice at Carnevale and not buy a mask... We then had lunch and went on a gondola ride! The guys in the striped shirts who row the gondolas were really nice and it was so weird being directed around streets made of water! We eventually found St. Mark's Square and the giant basilica where we took pictures and walked around before heading out for dinner. Venice was everything I dreamed it would be!
