    After a quick final yoghurt fruit and honey for breakky, we headed to Parikia to board a fast ferry to Rafina (mainland Greece).

    The Sea Jet - funnily enough, this ship was built in FREMANTLE!

    ... scurrying into the safety of shop doorways. The laneways wind and zig zag and are seldom straight. We are told the theory behind this was to confuse and deter the Pirates. There are shops selling everything - clothes and jewellery being the predominant items, but plenty of cafes. All the buildings are white and i can't help wondering what the colour charts look like in the local paint and hardware stores. Window trims seem to be the only choice available ...

    ... Our first stop was the "arch" ruin I saw upon arrival. The Portara was the entrance to an unfinished temple dedicated to Apollo and was began about 540 BC. Its massive marble columns weigh over twenty tons and it is believed to have originally been planned to be 181 feet long but construction was stopped and the temple was dismantled with the majority of the stones going to build the Venetian castle and homes.     Wow just wow.. The Greek Islands what a place! 5am start an 4 hour ferry to Mykonos, an staying at paradise, party Central! Only here one night so may as well make the most, Into the cocktails by the beach early.. Perfect. about an hour later two mates deb an vern randomly stroll in! Couldn't believe our luck but the night just got bigger. Big yarns then party away, catch a ride in a ransoms quad to town, sneak into a club an kick all night! The Italians here ...

    ... was filled with dark clouds. The weather in Mykonos is usually sunny and clear, at least that is what he driver who took us to the hotel told us. Today was highly unusual! We did have a wonderful surprise waiting for us at the hotel, though. Instead of having to wait 6 hours until check in time, the kind man at the Kouros hotel, after apologizing for the weather, told us he was able to get us directly into our room! The hotel ...
