Around 90% of Hannover were destroyed during WW2 and when I saw some of
the old houses that remained untouched it really broke my heart as I
could only imagine how pretty this city must have once been.

I hope you will enjoy the (rebuilt) remains as much as I did.

After work some colleages and I went out and walked through the city center down to the Marschsee. There was a festival and we were curious to see it.

We ended up sitting around the Maschsee having a nice conversation and watching people passing.

... but the rest of us spent Monday visiting the science museum in Wolsburg - Phaeno - and what a place it was. Not a huge museum, but packed with things for kids and adults alike to enjoy, from revolving rooms, to electric shocks and huge air-cannons to giant smoke rings. In fact too many things to fit in to a day. By this time Aimee and the boys were getting on like a house on fire. In the evening the girls went into Hannover ...

... Roman Empire and it wasn't until Napoleon came along and invaded that life in Hannover was interrupted to any serious degree. After he was banished though, life returned to normal. And we all know about the searing insanity that burned through Germany in the last century. The large Jewish population was completely wiped out and many other horrific and evil acts took place.
