Stranded in St Moritz
... struggling along the road in the snow. They were certainly not in their natural environment where they were.
As it was still snowing by the bucket I decided to sit in the hotels computer room and work on my photos etc.
The snow finally decided to give up around 2pm and so I decided to take a walk and go and explore the wonderful tourist town of St Moritz.

Sunshine and snow in the Alps
... leads into St Moritz. It’s now raining heavily and after a ride around the town I decide it’s time to find a hotel for tonight. As this is St Moritz I know it’s going to be rather expensive so headed off out of town in search of one of the cheaper hotels.
By the time I find a suitable hotel the rain has turned to snow and really is not looking promising for my onward trip tomorrow!!! Am I going to be stuck in St Moritz for a few days??? Oh no, what a place to be stuck ...

Train one hour out to varenna on lake como. Weather fine again, lake is clear n blue. Varenna is small village across from Bellagio. Very cute on hill side, ferry takes you across to other villages. ... monastery at Peoni. Another very old chapel - 14 monks still living there. Beautifully set at the end of a narrow winding lakeside road. Wonderful gardens, a grotto replica of Lourdes and some more spectacular views of the lake from the side opposite to Carcente.
