... route D907, the road through Gorges du Tarn. The views along this road were often breathtaking. There's nothing back home that I can compare. Of course the stone villages were continuously fascinating. The driving today was particularly fun - perhaps the best day of the whole journey. We had the fast autoroutes to ourselves (no trucks) and the ...

... far - everything worked easily - water pressure and temperature!!! In winter it is very snowy round here by the look of post cards and photos round the place. And a skiing area too....hard to imagine now. Dinner here in the hotel. Should be good, very friendly people. People always ask where we come from and it is always good to be Australian! Not a cloud in the sky, but though sunny and sparkling, not too hot for walking - just perfect. ...

... Sunday afternoon. Days are nameless in this sort of life, but we did realise that we have just had a weekend! I am looking forward to choosing my dinner tonight as the last few nights it was not a choosing situation, and mainly was sausage, a regional specialty, but though tasty, not my favourite . We seem to have passed the lentil region, and have not yet struck duck!! And we do eat SO much cheese....so ...

No wifi at the Gite today, so we are using the Tourist Office and will try to be quick! We have had a just wonderful day!! The book said it was hard, so we were prepared (mentally). Yesterday was moderate. But today was not as far - they said 19 kms, but Amr's iPhone said it was 21.5. But the difficult part was the very steep climb down into a gorge and then the long and endless climb up. But the scenery was worth ...
