          A new TIP and tyres

A travel blog entry by rinscosta on Oct 06, 2015

... I get them at the same price. No mud and snow is going to stop me now. That is...later. Because with ordering the tyres, another week of waiting begins. When four tyres come in they are put on the car immediately with the modernest of equipment, but the fifth tyre is in back-order and will not be here until Thursday. I don't want to wait anymore so it will be sent after me to Cartagena, although yesterday I said I didn't want to do that and introduce ...

Guess thats why they call it ´´travelling´´ Part 2

... we got our passports stamped and left the ****** bus.

We then found a guy who would take us to Cartagena...FINALLY! We got our passports stamped on the Colombian side and got on the bus. Never in my life had I ever thought that I would have felt - or ever be saying that I felt - so happy to see the words ´´Welcome to Colombia´´ but I really was. !Hola de Barranquilla! It's carnival time here! What a good excuse to have a party just before Lenten season! The time when everyone behaves badly before tying themselves down for 40 days of fasting and repenting. Yes, it is the same carnival that is being celebrated elsewhere in the world - Carnaval in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Lousiana; Patrino Karnavali in Greece; Carnival De Binche ...

Barrenquilla? I guess it is a matter of opinion.

A travel blog entry by wandering_gypsy on Mar 06, 2010

This little jaunt on my trip was short and sweet, and by sweet I mean bitter and potentially dangerous. To write and entry as long as my visit I will need to be precise. My trip to Barrenquilla was based on one thing, which I will divulge in a phrase or two. Barrenquilla, Colombia's third largest city, a port city, with little to no surface value from a prospective tourist was ...

... Academy Awards. Excellent fun was had, which somehow ended up with us partying on down in what appeared to be Barranquilla's red light district in a bar full of prostitutes (which we happened to stumble upon in our search for an open watering hole). Needless to say I woke up the next morning in Angie and Marci's spare room in desperate need of a Mackky D's! Since I'd already promised Machelle I'd go to the Monday parade with her, ...
