... proceeded to win the playoffs on the second round. Our prizes – a Noordam coffee mug and a Noordam water bottle – these are referred to colloquially as a Dam Mug and a Dam Jug respectively.
We set off at around 6 p.m. for Tunis – although we do have tomorrow at sea as it takes longer than overnight to get there. There was a wild thunderstorm – actually the weather hasn’t been great ...
And at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.
St Elm, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain sharkita... br>We ended up going to a large club in the center of the city. It was probably the largest club that I've ever seen. This place was huge! I ended up dancing with the girls until about 4 am when I was beginning to get very sleepy and returned to the yacht. I didn’t bring my cell phone and when I got back the passarelle was raised up to prevent anyone from getting aboard. There is always a Duty Officer on duty and part of their job to welcome and ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourneyWe arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourney... us off and then returned to the yacht go continue on their way. Usually the crew will setup an area on the beach with a canopy, beverages, and a few lounge chairs, but since none of that would fit on the heli, it was just us a change of close, beach towels a few drinks and sunscreen.
We weren’t nearly as hyper on the beach today as we were in Formentera. Today, everyone just strolled around the ...
... from Germany. Good music, dancing starts up. We leave at 1:30 to catch the last bus. I am relying on my roommate who is totally confident about the schedule. Well, we wait with others but find out the last bus left awhile back. We need to find a cab which is difficult since everyone is trying to get to a bar/club somewhere. We finally get one. A late night by my standards but just starting to get going. My back could not take any more.
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller... SpanAir, an airline that I have no familiarity. I was able to get a $100 fair from Scandinavia to Spain during peak vacation season. The flight is fine but they charge for everything, sodas and even water. While on the flight, my PC crashed. On the reboot it asked for bootable media. Yikes! A little panic but on the next reboot, it started up fine. I am backing up photos every few days but my PC has been key for my communication, my blog, photos, info collecting … Later in ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller... cool but think it's not worth it unless you have someone under 10 years in your party. Petra knows a great coffee shop and we stop at Cappuccino in Portal Nous, a classic amongst Mallorca afficionados. Cappuccino is a chain by now and well known. Their coffee and snacks are pricey and tasty. And amongst outdoor heaters with view over the harbor it tastes even better. We borrow a local newspaper and find out that the Museuo Es Baluard in Palma is having it's five year celebration ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands vikatw... was beautiful we just walked around and looked. The journey back to the hotel was much the same. One good thing on getting our buss we found, around the back of the hotel, A local bar/ restaurant where workmen from the area ate, great cheap food and the best beer.
Palma, Spain hairsuiti visit spain so often but I had my first trip there at the tender age of about 8 months! haha!
needless to say I can't remember that particular trip but the subsequent ones really hit the spot with me!
I love Majorca because it has something for everybody. Mad nightlife, beautiful beaches and scenery, lovely people and not as "high rise" as main land Spain.
