... Another coach load came through and we got the feeling we were rushed out before the next lot arrived. Oh well. All the optionals have exceeded expectations so this one was disappointing. ... and interesting streets and lots of friendly people talking Italian. Found a little cafe near some boats in the sunshine. Divine. Coffee was fabulous, I could have kissed him it was so nice. We reached the beach at Nice at the far end and waited for the whole group to assemble before cycling the 5 miles along the Promenade de Anglais to the finish point right outside our hotel. So there it is, 1000 miles from London to Nice. The only mechanical failure was Bryan's blow out on day four. Both bikes in need of a good service but impeccably reliable. ... so the store intrigues us, as we peer inside to our disbelief we see barrels overflowing with an assortment of candy. Using our toddler as an excuse we hurriedly clamber inside and fill some bags with as much as we could carry. The candy was unlike any candy we had seen before, the photos will prove this! I've spent the past week in a small 'retirement/beach resort' type town called Saint Raphael with my crazy but cool uncle, very pregnant auntie and sweetie cousins. It's been sunny and warm half the time... The other half, rather rainy... But still better than Duesseldorf! And pretty good for autumn.

Mostly playing with the kiddies and hanging with my Frenchy partner in crime (also featured in 2011/12 summer NZ and Amsterdam adventures). ...
