The trade off is we are in a beautiful environment. Very dry air, and hard water. Altitude also affects the temperature water boils at, and how long things take to cook. Soft boiled egg is 6 minutes. Fortunately there is an App to help with such things. Also means that hangovers can arrive early and hit hard. Possible due in part to dehydration, but alt also contributes to less oxygen in the blood. Up and down stairs is often hard ...

... rusty, especially with my listening/comprehension skills - everyone speaks so quickly! - but I've been able to make myself understood all day, at grocery stores and patisseries and train stations alike. I'm looking forward to improving, and especially to my ears catching up with my mouth.

... 12:00. You might see where this is going... Anyway, I jumped off at a station in the middle of bloody nowhere. Essentially whoop whoop ville, Italy. Jumped on another train, which got me closer to Milan. Then thanks to he chronic inefficiency of the Italian rail system, I arrived just in time for the train to Milan, which was due to leave 25 minutes before I got there. Good day (kind of, not really).
