This train to Koln is an ICE train - Inter City Express - it moves along like greased lightening. Screens on the train clock the speed. I know we hit 296km at one point. These trains are smooth, quiet, comfortable and, most of all, faassstttt.

Koln at 10:17am. Walk out of the hauptbahnhof in Koln and whammo!!!!! There is the huge gothic cathedral looming gigantic. Not much to say except there is one reference in the crypts in the basement ...

We walked around the city and saw some of the beautiful sites, such as the university and the town hall. We had a look at some of the goods for sale in the market, and went for a long walk in the city in search of a restautrant for lunch.
