Olten is a town that is near and dear to my heart. It is where my Grandfather grew up and where my Mum's Grandma Pia lived, who was like another mom to her.

Animals, animals. Stopped a few times to say hello to the horses. So beautiful. One picture I posted was of a Shana look-a-like. I wanted this horse. And now that I'm writing this I think he was an Icelandic horse. After just spending a week on the farm with 15 Icelandic horses I have an idea of what they look like now! Gorgeous. Probably my top pick for when I get my own!

We checked out the Zurich Zoo on our first morning, and as usual the kids were far less interested in the animals than in the playgrounds (which were admitedly pretty cool, with a preponderance of ropes and wood). The favorite animals were some ponies grazing near the playground..
