Amsterdam to Gouda - 99 km/59 miles!!!

... 7PM. We were so tired, I had to take a nap and couldn't muster the energy to go out and eat. Brian was very hungry so I agreed to go down to the hotel restaurant.

Since it was Sunday, the hotel only had pizza. I am sure it is whatever Dutch version of DiGiorno pizza but it was still good. I only had a slice, Brian had the rest of two pizzas.

Did we do any more sightseeing in Gouda? No, and not the following day either. More on that on the next blog entry...

We then motored across our race course to the southern edge of the Markermeer to meet up with Roland and Pauline at their marina - the Royal Dutch Yacht and Rowing Club in Muiden!! ... Steakhouse across the road from our hotel, it specialises in grilled meats and shawarmas - similar to Turkish/Greek food. Yum! I think we'll go there again when we stay at the same hotel at the end of the bike tour. It's 9.00 pm and only just getting dark, but it's lovely having the extra time to do things outside. Can't wait to see the tulip fields ...

... asleep tonight, we will wake up in the morning and my cousin Carolyn will be here to pick us up!! We are traveling to Dusseldorf, Germany with her and are staying in her hotel! I cannot wait for a hot shower, warm bed, and somewhere to wash my clothes!!

The distractions in Amsterdam, other than the obvious, is that there are still plenty of attractive Dutch girls, generally with nice legs owing to the amount of bike riding going on, and with all the tourists, plenty of people are sitting around at the same cafes drinking at 9am.
