... night's trip to the Red Light District pretty much dropped us into...well...the "red" zone. So today we headed over to Museumplein to check it out. We saw the Rijksmuseum, and the Van Gogh Museum...gift shops. Now come on...be realistic...you didn't actually think I would be able to handle both of those places, now did you? ... a coach house with gorgeous statues. The next was the Willyt-Holthuysen home. This home was as nice but the gardens were not. They had no children so they spent their time traveling and collecting art. Pity the help in these houses. The kitchens were always in the basement and they slept in the attic so the staff had to go up and down the steep stairs for everything.

... They try to buy the cheap ones because they are stolen all the time, even though they try to spend more on the locks. And we noticed young mothers biking with an attachment that can carry two or three kids in the front of the bike. Some of the children carrier attached to the bikes were rectangular wooden boxes where children could sit, sort of like a wooden Red Flyer. And no seatbelts.
