... for a slice of spanakopita, and we managed to find a shoe repair shop. The owner recommended Bougris, the local taverna just across the cobblestone lane. A family affair, the restaurant was splendid and traditional.....meal balls and tomato sauce and stuffed eggplant and tomato. ... other than the Artina. The owners work with passion and their guests appreciate this. Besides, this is one of the reasons for the many repeaters.





ROOM: Spacious and impeccably clean, our room was equipped with a mini fridge, a flat-screen satellite TV, a safety box and a hairdryer. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a good night's sleep. The balcony overlooked the blue wavy coast.

... a nunnery, the latter still inhabited, along with ruins of several houses, and slowly climbed higher. Views were fantastic, as were the wall frescoes. The upper town turned out to be a disappointment. ... a bit scary as traffic was fast, but not heavy), then up through the hills to Mesohori where I stopped for a drink at the taverna and ordered a taxi from Pylos to take me on to kalithea. Why did I do all this? Well - to see the countryside, to exercise, because there are no taxis in Methoni during siesta time, and I did not want to call one out! I arrived later than intended at the factory and my olives were already in the processing tanks.
