So Teplice Nad Metuji wasnt originally on our list but we'd heard that the rocks (Teplice Skaly) were not to be missed and so we packed our bags and off we trundled. Teplice is on the North East coast of Czech not too far from the Polish Border ‐ when we went it was COLD!

There is a countrywide hiking path through Hungary and it cuts through Teplice so we were hoping to meet lots of fellow nature lovers, exchange stories ...

... and on our first full day in Prague, he picked us up and took us out of town to visit an old Castle called Krivoklat. It dates from the 12th Century and was more of a favoured hunting lodge. Early start this morning to travel to Teplice Nad Metují after a tram, a train, a bus, a train, & then another train 4 hours later we were there. It's a tiny little town with about 4 or 5 houses, surrounded by forest. In the forest are a whole lot of odd shaped sandstone formations. A million years ago this whole area was covered in ocean, & the unusual looking rocks were formed as the sea ...

    Hiking

Remember, if you are a student (or you are brave enough to lie you are) you will pay just half a price to enter the place - 35 CZ money instead of 70. If you are with car, better come earlier so you won't have problems with parking.
The place was amazing, really something, that you never had seen before (perhaps). You can choose where you want to walk, how far and how long. We didn't have any plan, no map we just trusted our intuition. So ...

... it without any serious problems.

According to Tereza´s uncle this track was supposed to be the most exhausting one with one quite long and steep uphill. The top of the hill is called “Ruprechticky Spicak”. It is situated 880 meters above the sea level on the borders between the Czech Republic and Poland. There is also a twenty-meter-high observation tower.

The way how we reached the top was quite funny. Even if Tereza´s uncle prepared ...
