    ... woman ,began to build their own chiesa, adorned with mosaics and add sparkles to those already there .Theodoro even built a few of her own.
    The Ravenna of today is a small town , but has 8 Unesco world heritage sites of Byzantine mosaics. As we all know how I love glittery things so....it was on the list of " must do's".

    ... the city. In the afternoon,we rode out to the beach which was 7km always. It was a long ride in the hot sun. We were happy to spend the rest of the afternoon to the early evening relaxing at the beach. That night,we went for dinner in the city center, eating lots of pasta and wine. After dinner we went chill out in the town plaza. The next day we had breakfast and relaxing before starting the journey to Florence. We had to take a train to Bologna then transfer to another train ...

    ... the perimeter fence and found that it was a beautiful building with very interesting architecture.

    The old buildings in the town are renowned for their mosaics. There are 5 buildings that are on UNESCO's World Heritage list in Ravenna and 3 more in the surrounding areas, the Basilica in Classe being 1 of these 3.     ... I thought that I would be getting my pizza with a pastry base served on a palm front. Not so. What I had was very nice. It was a pizza pastry base covered in an assortment of cheese, rolled similar to what we in Australia do with a pie pastry. It was topped with more cheese, finely sliced bacon and rocket (Ann's favourite!) and cherry tomatoes. Spot on and all consumed.
