    Our road trip started with a bit of a bump. After stopping off at an awesome beach we had been told about in Guatemala and then checking out a turtle sanctuary. It was so cool and there were so many huge turtles. We carried on with our trip and things got a little crazy.     ... place we were supposed to stay at come & go we were informed the campsite we hoped to stay at was closed so continued onto the next large town, Aracaju. As we passed along 2 hitchhikers grabbed a ride with us; they were 2 security officials needing to be dropped at the next town.     Mad dogs, Englishmen...and I...go out in the midday sun! The weather has been a scorcher since I arrived and I overdid it a little on my first day, with an exploratory wander when birds and workmen alike were taking shelter in any available shade! I found my shade at a local oceanarium, which was a little naff but the tiny turtles were cute! It feels a little like I could be in southern Europe so far, with the notable exception that no-one speaks ...

    I made a stop in Aracaju mainly because the CouchSurfers were so so nice!
    Both Monique and Rodrigo had been emailing me for a few weeks, convincing me to visit their part of Brazil. So, I head over there and met 2 of the nicest CSers I ever met!
    Rodrigo picked me up from the bus terminal and brought me to his grandmothers house where I could have lunch, and after I met Andrew, an American that had been cycling around South America already for a year.
