Today I bus to Frankfurt. I've been there before a long time ago when I worked for Penguins doing the book fair. I'd seen a little of the city then but it has grown in stature since and is more of a financial hub. It laden with foreigners it's not unlikeable though and has a lively atmosphere. Like Berlin there are some amazing smells around the city but also like ...

... I saw an Airbnb host saying she would accept my request if I still wanted it. I wrote her back saying no thanks since I already dropped money on the hotel. I'm glad I stayed at the hotel because after my experience with the worthless trains, I wouldn't want that thing taking me to the airport in the morning!

Things then went from worse to miserable, the nausea wouldn't go away so I kind of force myself to make it go away. Lucky for me, I was feeling a lot better. Then I ...

I spent a lovely am walking through Trout Lake sitting on the bench starring at the peaceful lake trying to think about what adventures lie ahead and saying goodbye to my favourite city. After some ensuring of the contents of the bag that will be my life for the next 3 months I made ...

... we were able to say "We're back!". We collected our luggage, went through customs (first time ever being checked by US customs - but all was fine) and took the shuttle to the rental car center. We didn't arrive the busy time of the day, so the parking lot was full of really nice Midsize SUV cars and we decided to go for a white Toyota Rav4 4x4 - always trust Toyota! :D After this long flight we decided to head to our (last minute) booked hotel first. Whilst the ...

... McDonald's, where it was fun to have to point to the menu because our server had no idea of English. Lucky Big Mac holds true in all languages, so I found it was pretty easy. As in Amsterdam, it was also remarkably similar to home, except for the bun which again was more toasted and warm. We got back to the hotel, joined Johnny for a well earned drink in the room, and then hit the sack, keen to get a good night's sleep for a massive day in Frankfurt tomorrow. One week ...
