CRUISING DAY - Wurzburg / Rothenberg

Cruised along the Main (pronounced Mine) River to Wurzburg seeing little snow-clad houses in towns along the way and vine-clad slopes of surrounding hills.

Wurzburg is the 'capital of Wine Franconia a NW province of Bavaria with about 130,000 inhabitants. Wurzburg, Bamberg and Nuremberg are all located in a sub-region of Bavaria called Franconia. William Rontgen (Nobel Prize ...

... valley and town. There is of course plenty of guard rails that prevent any chance of a fall. But, when your that high up with winds gusting to 50mph, with an established fear of heights, its a bit scary. You can see the fear in my eyes in the pictures that Jonathan took of me. 4-5 minutes up there was enough, and then down we went!

... our meals. Thanks to Lily we met some lovely people from the town seated at the next table. They helped us with the 5 varieties of snitzel on the menu, recommended a beer for Clint & dessert for the kids.

      Snitzel all around - delicious!

It was a lovely atmosphere & a great experience to stay in a smaller town rather than in the larger, more touristy ones.

We enjoyed the night, and no wifi.

... and your right but it took me straight back to my mum and childhood and it was delicious, that is what we ate in the olden days. 25.11.14 Had the best breakfast and went out for a walk around town, lots of nooks and crannies and then found it attached to a modern shopping complex. Jenny went and got her nails done and we had Greek for lunch, will make you a better Souvlaki from now on WOK I have the secret. Jenny had ...
