Got to a downtown port location, thus able to WALK THRU OLD TOWN from 9 to 12:30.

In the Town Center is a huge cathedral, occupying two blocks, at least 15 stories high, filled with filigree and buttressed walls. It was built over 25 years beginning about 1350. Probably so, we will see when we visit red light area. ...

This was a large carnival and quite a sight to see. We were all amazed that this was only here for 1 week, as it was similar in size to Kneobels. There were rides, games, food, snacks, and of course beer tents, which we decided would be a good place to stop after walking around. Now properly hydrated, ...

... weather’s only halfway decent) you should go down to the Rhine and stroll down the Rheinuferpromenade (Rhine Embankment Promenade). From almost everywhere in the Old Town it just takes a few minutes to get down to the Rhine. And it’s in this area where the promenade is probably at its busiest – there’s café, restaurants, and in summer even beach bars with real sand where you can get everything from ice-cream to a real ...
