We are staying in Amsterdam tonight at the Hampshire Hotel. Our train went via Cologne and we were able to go out from the station and see the massive Cologne Cathedral. It's right on a massive square directly outside the train station. Handy! As soon as we crossed into The Netherlands we saw bikes, bikes and more bikes! Everyone young and old rides everywhere here. ... trade. We found a lovely seafood restaurant and ate the local fare while people watching. Saw many interesting sights and made lots of observations e.g. everyone uses a bike except young males, Germans are fascinated by handbag dogs, the only people in Dusseldorf who wear shorts in summer other than Eric are joggers, and lots of older couples dress similarly (that was scary!)

... through the Rhine Valley between these rocky slopes and I got a bit snap happy. There were plenty of people about cycling and caravaning. The train was quite modern with high back seats and no conductor. I only got a 8 Minute stopover though so it was quite quick.

1:16pm Koblenz - Caught the Regional Express to Düsseldorf though Bonn and Köln. It took 1hr 45m to travel 150kms, but I got to see the Kölner Dom again. The train was a double decker which meant that ...
