2 hours to catch flight!

... spent too much time investigating. Aside from a few months of an Introductory German course that I failed and dropped, I certainly have no 1st hand experience with their culture.
Planning, plotting, and practicing is how I will accomplish this irresponsible feat of travel and confusion.
Godspeed and good luck I've wished myself well in advance.
Who knows?
Maybe I'll never even make it out of Frankfurt...

Beersteins and Feral Antics

Short entry this time....

Only here for one night. Got to the hotel saw a couple of shops with beersteins, birkenstocks and clocks. Had dinner and watched some feral women proceed to get ****** and act like idiots in the hotel bar. Some good news though, won 30 euro on the slot machine in the hotel.

One of the guys (we assume it was a guy) even peed in the hotel hallway and our Tour Manager had to clean it up. People can be such animals.

The first day of my 2nd escape

... Well here's the story:

After having met a bunch of design students "by chance" (still don't believe in chance though ;) at a party,

[to be continued]

I reckon this trip will help me to make some awesome pictures.

The cute little german town

... go straight to sleep on the bus. she puts it down to having a kid and she can get woken up lots overnight so you get used to going quickly back to sleep but i mean seriously we're in a bus and its definatly not the most comfortable thing to sleep in.
Went to a beer stein factory this morning and it was heaps interesting to learn how they make them and the storys behind them..

Dinner with Nadine and Flo

... the hookers seemed to still be waiting for the American GI’s. It was raining and dreary, but soon to change when Erik’s cousin, Nadine, and boyfriend, Flo, picked us up to take us to their home town outside the big city near the Tanus Mountains. We had a wonderful visit, them taking us to a traditional German restaurant where we tasted fresh apple wine. We topped it off with a visit to their apartment. What a great way to end the trip!

OMG! Videos: DAS SCHNITZEL

So close to the land of Oz

... it could have fallen out, I don't really know... When we got into Cologne there was a parade on. Sunday is the "family" day and there were heaps of little kids in costume, including a really gorgeous 2 yr old dressed as Schnappi the crocodile. Do u remember the song? I felt bad because I wasn't wearing a costume that day. It would have been too hard to carry all of my luggage in a little German barmaid outfit. As it was I just managed to get by. All ...

Travelling to India

... airport in Frankfurt: It was large and very... unfriendly feeling. I've been in several airports in my life, but this one seemed very "unpersonal", with corridor feeling hallways between gates, stone (terrazo?) floors, and people rushing from one place to the next. The airport in India was not particularly personable either, but it was smaller, and we had friends waiting to greet us. I just remember Frankfurt airport feeling ... cold. When we arrived in Delhi, we had to go ...

Castles, medieval towns and a red light district

... we couldn't afford to part with another 15 euros for a horse and carriage ride to the top)!!! There were brilliant views from the Marien Bridge (see the pic) and it was nice not to be surrounded by so many tourists (but funny enough it was another steep 20 minute walk up there and the horses and carriages didn't go that far)! * More "Romantic Road" not really worth mentioning was seen after Fussen although there were a few pretty towns and churches to see along the way ...

Frankfurt by Night

... you’d never do in the US, where freeways scream right over and around the centers of towns, frequently chopping up neighborhoods in the process. In Europe they stop at the edges, strictly a point-to-point sprint. You still have to wind your way through the cities, usually.
