... in them, and a new candle is lit each week before the big day until all four are lit come Christmastime. We also played a game with the presents, each of us taking turns opening a present and guessing who it was for. I gave Simon's family the swiss chocolate I bought for them in Cologne, and I got a couple really cool presents, including a calendar and a book with all of the beautiful places in Germany so I can remember what I saw, and also see what I hopefully will get to go and ...

... German lady who showed us round and made us welcome. We are in a regular suburb in a regular residential apartment block, the apartment is big clean and just perfect for us in Berlin, buses near, underground near. See what happens when you wake at 3 ;) Anyway I will post this, or as the program says publish it and see if I get any other surprises about old and new posts. Arriving at Mannheim Hauptbahnhof just after 6pm, we were finally back at home before 7pm and happy that we could finally relax. Catching 3 different trains just to get home isn't the most convenient, but it is much cheaper and gives you the opportunity to explore some places along the way!

Happy New Year.

... out with her head covered! It took under 2 hours to arrive at our hotel here in Mainz, which was deep in a residential area on a dead end road. No lift, but only one flight up, so mom did okay. We settled in a bit, I washed some clothes and hung them around the room to dry, then we headed to town on a city bus with minimal information. Another adventure... Our specialty. Lunch: Hintz & Kuntz - salads with grilled mushrooms and ...
