      ... 8211; make a U-turn!!

      Sure enough I turned and soon found myself heading North on the motorway for the next 20km or so.

      Soon off the fast flowing motorway I find myself on an extremely narrow road and heading upwards into the mountains. I pass a welcome sign saying pass open and so I continue.

      The satnav takes me through all kinds of strange weird and wonderful towns. In one town its telling me to turn right but as I follow the road there does not ...

      ... the room or pay now. She said it is part of the half board cost of the room, you only pay for the drinks. Well I was gob smacked, what a great dinner in any case, but the deal fantastic. 27.10.14 Got up to a car covered in a very heavy frost, took about twenty minutes with the motor running and the trusty Medicare Card to get some visibility.       ... and someone was practicing on the organ. I met a priest from Rome in the church who recognized me as a Franciscan by the Tau Cross I was wearing. He gave me a blessing and promised to say 5 masses for my family at the Vatican. We saw him later on the street.

      ... The plan is to eat early tonight because John has insisted that we all join him and Laurie and Cyndy and Tom and Colette (who have already had this experience) in the downstairs bar for a digestivo to celebrate our fantastic week up here in the Dolomites!

      Tomorrow we head for Tuscany and the next part of our adventure . . . Now we just have to figure our which pictures to share. Between the two of us - we have LOTS! ...

      ... supermarket to get some happy hour supplies - but the stores all close around here from noon or so to four o'clock for siesta .. No dice!

      Arrived back at the hotel around two o'clock. Might be time for some lunch. :-). So we walked through the town of Alba to this pizza place we had noticed on the way home! Great pizza over here. Very thin crust - cooked in a wood oven - really tasty! And of course, pizza goes ...
