        ... it is closed to the public as it is the emperors residence. It is set in a nice park with lovely gardens.
        That afternoon we left Tokyo to go to Kyoto. The bullet train was on our agenda. We had heard the trains all run exactly on time and not to be late, we navigated the station to the separate station for Shinkansen trains.         We had a bit of a sleep in and then drove to Salzburg. We went into the Mirabell Palace and Gardens where they sang the song Doe Ray Me in the sound of music movie. We had a go singing it while running through the garden, but Dad says we didn't sound too good. We had a picnic lunch by the fountains. We then walked through the narrowed cobbled streets up to the Salzburg fortress where we had great views over the city. On the way back down dad showed us some more sound of music ...
