... It also produced the Trabant a metal and plastic car used all over the Eastern bloc. The museum there is very well done. As we left town we passed this incredibly large VW plant. Now you know. Our home for the night was on a mixed use parking lot next to the downtown area and the town center...the lot was big enough for several hundred cars but you could here a pin drop at night. And, in the corner was a very efficient public toilet -stainless steel, clean and only one half ...

So after a very late night last night it was up early today to head out for a 9 1/2 hour excursion. We were headed to the spa town of Karlovy Vary- about 20 kilometers from the German border. Dinner was whatever was in the cupboard and we enjoyed games and drinks as the washing was ...

      ... that.
If someone says, Germany is a flat country, they never biked through there. I crossed the "Fichtelgebirg", the little "Erzgebirge", plus heaps of hills not specially mentioned, but with all my luggage at least challenging.
After passing the town of Hof, I then came to the boarder Bayern /Sachsen .
I did take little notice at the sign there, that until November 12th 1989, Germany and Europe were divided at that point.
To my surprise, now on former East ...

I am in Zwickau, 40 km west of Chemnitz.
Will leave veery soon towards Dresden, a good 100 km distance.
Plan to have a day rest in Dresden, if everything works out.
Talk about yesterday and what will happen today from Dresden.
