... having breakfast in McDonald's. It's a very nice city with beautiful palaces and fun stores. Mom and I had a good time shopping. We only spent a couple of hours in Augsburg before moving on, but it was a great place to stop. I was actually here before a few years ago when my hotel in Munich canceled my reservation two days before Oktoberfest and remembered that it was a nice place to visit.

Today we visited the tiny walled town of Berching...about 30 mins west of Parsburg. Berching is a historical town with a fully preserved town wall that was rebuilt in 1350...the first settlement was registered in 883, that it is more than 1100 years old! the wall is interspaced with towers and one of the towers has been converted into a 6-story apartment. the Rhine ...

We have had very few itinarary suggestions from the kids, so when Russell said that he wanted to visit Legoland, and when he actually directed us to it with the GPS, we thought we would take that seriously. Yay, today we had a sleep in as we didn't pay the extra 10 Euro each for breakfast. After our sleep in we headed to the Roman Museum which is set up in an old church so really high ceilings. ... a walk to the main square, getting slightly lost as we'd forgotten to take a map but by following the signs to the only train station in Augsburg helped us back to a familiar setting. Our hotel has one computer with free access to the internet so we made full use of it after not being able to access our email/facebook/news since Nice.
