After a train journey about twice the length we were expected, we get to Luxembourg City where we quickly find an awesome pub in the old town - Bar Liquid and had a nice few drinks.

A blues-y band was playing who we got chatting to and Gems guested on fiddle on a couple of tunes.

Om als gezelschap een beetje aan elkaar te wennen hadden we een motortoertocht uitgestippeld door de Eifel en de Ardennen. We vertrokken vanuit het huis van Ger na het nuttigen van een heerlijke bak koffie. Iedereen was goed warm gekleed. Gedurende de tocht gingen steeds meer kleren uit. There are some very fine old houses and buildings. One that took our particular fancy is the 14th century "Three Kings House" It's decoration is bright and reminiscent of the Moorish theme but ...

Bernkastel's famous son is Nicholas Cusanus (1401 - 64) - never heard of him? Me neither, but he was apparently a famous philosopher/clergyman - google him!! Opposite us on the boat was a "care home' for old folk - supposedly the first in the world (????) started by him. We are told his heart is buried there - the rest of him is buried ...
