Although we dreamt and planned a lot for this journey, we never thought about the last part.
Waiting between our last two planes, we still have one question:How do you end such an overwhelming adventure before getting back to the real world of bills, plumbing problems and work but also friends, family, weekends and summerbars? I guess by putting the best pics on your screensaver and planning the next one :-)?.
It is 5:38 pm Italy time... how do I know this???... because our plane has actually landed in Italy. It's a miracle!!! The drive from our hotel is 40 minutes. Along the way I am struck by the beautiful flowering bushes, crazy fast driving and the graffiti. Once we hit about 30 minutes into the drive you start to see the tops of the famous Italian buildings and the quaint shops. The city really bustles to life with everyone vying for parking ...
... to kill ...well it's not safe ...there are weirdos everywhere ...get me to the platform ...it's very hot and I'm dressed for a winters day ...for joy !! Rocked into the hotel,quick shower,and off to explore Heidelberg. Way relaxed after the madness of Amsterdam!! And so different again...walk to see the castle I might visit tomoz and then a quick salad ..a red and home to bed. Well home is wear I leave my ...
I tried to postpone and postpone what would be my final goodbye, but eventually it was inevitable. Eventually I walked through to customs, mum's final goodbye bursting my heart.
My baggage weighted in a mere 18.8 kg, a whole 6 kilo's under the limit.
