... the hostel without reading the review. My bad. My very bad. We had checked into a hostel that was considered the party hostel of the town. To be fair it was the only double en-suite room we could find. Every second day they have a function. Pizza evening, BBQ evening, Mexican evening. Then on the other nights they have random bands come in and perform terrible music. ... breeze, and the beautiful blue waters and beautiful people on the beach. It was definitely a nice and relaxing day in beautiful weather. We both agreed we couldn't spent days upon days lying on a beach, but once in a while, it's fun! The Mexican rainy season really doesn't seem that bad if it only rains for a few minutes each day.

Elisa's home is maybe 12 blocks outside of San Miguel, which is where the main strip/ferry dock/tourist area. Her home is close enough to the beaches to enjoy, but far enough away from the "touristy" aka mini USA area. When walking through her neighborhood, you really feel like you are in Mexico.
