From exquisite to ancient
Our tired legs tell us we have done quite a bit of walking today, with excursions both morning and afternoon.
Another relatively early start. Hard to get used waking up in the dark in October. Still dark until about 7 am. This will change on Sunday when Daylight Saving ends. But not for long as we get closer to winter.

Wurzburg, a beautiful city and my favorite so far
After docking this morning, took a short bus ride to the Wurzburg Residenz, home of the prince-bishops in the 18th century--lots of ornate detail and compared to the Palace of Versailles in France. The Residenz is known for having The largest staircase enclosed in a room with gorgeous paintings on the ceiling depicting the continents except Australia since it had not been discovered at this time. Expedition Europe Engaged
... With no strict plan it is easy to travel where the wind blows and find the unexpected or last minute treasure. A casual conversation over dinner involves what country we want to go to tomorrow, should we take an afternoon stop in Brussels? Maybe buy a flight to Italy?
It is a different scene from Africa, with different avenues to pursue meaning, but one thing is for sure: there are plenty of fun memories on the horizon in this Europe expedition.

Just love Rothenburg
... Enough with the history lesson for today. Rothenburg is full of gingerbread houses as I call them and lots of lovely shops and home to one of the biggest Christmas shops I have ever seen (not that I’ve seen many). This town is well worth putting on your bucket list. The only downfall in my opinion is the number of cars they have driving around the town. I know life goes on for the locals there but it does ruin the atmosphere just a ...
